Our Favorite Après Spots In Telluride

January 14, 2019

With terrain as steep at Telluride’s, après-ski is even more enjoyable after a full day on the mountain. While Telluride isn’t gigantic, it’s filled to the brim with great restaurants and bars. If you’re in town and looking to quench your thirst, check out these recommended après-ski spots.

Gorrono Ranch

You don’t even need to leave the slopes to enjoy a “during-ski” drink. At Gorrono Ranch, margaritas have been the fan-favorite for eons. Just get to Chair 4 and take the Misty Maiden run to get down to this on-mountain spot. Plus, you can relax on “the beach” and sip your margarita while a live band jams in the background.

Oak

If you’re hankering for a cold beer, Oak is by far one of the most affordable and convenient option around. Right at the base of Chair 8 and the Gondola, Oak serves big burgers, sweet potato fries, and just about anything you’re in the mood for.

As if that doesn’t sound good enough already, Oak also serves $2 Schlitz.

The Sheridan

For a more upscale vibe, The Sheridan is a classic chop house where you can get Telluride’s signature drink — the Flatliner. A mix of espresso, vodka, Bailey’s, and Kahlua, this drink tastes like dessert but packs a punch. Stay hydrated and remember that these drinks can be much stronger than they taste.

Telluride Brewing Company

If you’re in town, Telluride Brewing is the city’s go-to fermentation station. Telluride Brewing serves great beer, and it’s also committed to staying within Colorado — including distribution. So, if you’re visiting from out of town, be sure to enjoy these brews while you can!

Tomboy Tavern

Right at the base of the slopes, Tomboy Tavern is known for one thing: the best Bloody Mary in Telluride. From bacon to blue cheese and olives to shrimp, these loaded drinks fill you up as you watch other skiers make their way down Misty Mountain.

You can’t go wrong in Telluride when it comes to post-skiing libations. If the town is known for anything aside from its amazing skiing, it’s known as being a top food and drink destination in Colorado.
