Telluride's First Skidola!

March 12, 2020

Every Summer Telluride has an event called the Rundola. It is a race from the gondola station in Telluride, up the Telluride Trail, and to the top of the gondola station. New this winter, The Telluride Foundation in partnership with the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund  brings us our first Skidola!

The Race

This uphill winter race will begin on March 13th at the Gondola station in the town of Telluride. This is an open registration race allowing skis, skins, snowshoes, and slogs in a race to the top!  All ages are also welcome with separate races taking place for Female, Male, and Youth under 18.

Proceeds

The cost of the event is $30 with all proceeds going to our ever important Pi Foundation. This foundation was created in remembrance of a very special alpinist in Telluride, Peter Inglis. Today the Pi Avy Fund offers many opportunities for avalanche education and backcountry user awareness.

Awards

Included also with your registration is a bib for the race, cool swag, and appetizers at the OAK! Grab some of those tasty apps and drinks at the Oak with an awards ceremony taking place at 7pm. Medals will be awarded to the top three athletes in each category and first place winners will receive a mystery prize!

Enter the race or cheer on your favorite athlete this Friday at 5:30pm. We’ll see you there!
