Every June festival lovers and musicians from around the world flock to Telluride for the Annual Bluegrass Festival. The magical 4 days of great music, mountains views and Colorado sunshine set the official start of music festivals in the mountains. Traditionally the Bluegrass Festival happens around the Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year which begins the Colorado summer. It's a magical time of sun and light, when the mountains awaken full of new live, lush greenery and the echoing of Bluegrass.
During the Bluegrass Festival Telluride becomes the music capital of the Rockies - main stage performances in Town Park throughout the day, intimate masters workshops on the Elks Park stage on Main Street in downtown, prestigious band and songwriting contests, late-night Nightgrass concerts at every indoor venue in town, and jam sessions on sidewalks and throughout the campgrounds.
The 44th Annual Bluegrass Festival this year is scheduled for June 15 to 18 and includes an amazing line up of musicians including Nora Jones, Jason Mraz, Brandi Carlile and many more.
