Enchanting Sleigh Ride and Historic Ranch

January 15, 2020

Nothing is more magical in the winter months for both kids and adults than an exclusive ride on a horse driven sleigh. A Christmas Movie dream come true is possible in the San Juan Mountains of Telluride, Colorado. The Aldasoro Ranch has had a close tie to these mountains since the family’s immigration here in the 1920s. Once flourishing on the sale of lamb and wool to nearby mining camps, the Ranch has adapted to the now ski resort town by providing a unique experience for visiting families and friends.

Your Telluride Sleigh tour begins with a pick up at the Courthouse and transportation to the Aldasoro Ranch. From there, greet the American Draft Horse teams, Beau and Pearl or new rescue team, Sugar and Snow. Adored by the family at Aldasoro Ranch, these easy going horses are frequently ridden by the children of the family (7-8 years of age) and are a perfect fit for your family too!

There are two Rides a day, both early and late. The early (starting at 4:30 and ending at 7:30) is geared for families and will include a horse sleigh ride both ways. If enjoying a night out with friends, the later ride will begin at 6:30 and end a 9:30. This ride includes a horse sleigh ride in and a snow cat out.

Early or late, hop into the Sleigh for an enchanting ride around the fields and to the authentic sheep camp where you can warm your toes in the heated tent. Once there, revel in a fine dining experience of Chef Graeme Charles’ flavorful Coloradan inspired meals (menu below). For the late evening dinner, you can enjoy a welcome cocktail and the Aldasoro special Spanish Tapas too!
