The perfect Thanksgiving - Telluride opening day

Telluride opens for the 2016/17 season on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24. What better way to enjoy the holiday with your family then to ski Telluride and have a thanksgiving dinner in town?

For Thanksgiving dinner in Telluride we recommend Allred's Restaurant in the Gondola Station at Saint Sophia. Ranked No. 1 of 78 restaurants in Telluride on tripadvisor, the restaurant has specific reviews about Thanksgiving, where guests recommend you make reservations early, before the sun goes down, for the most spectacular view.

If this snow comes in Telluride is one of the best places to ski in Colorado with Beginner Terrain, Hike-to Terrain, Terrain Parks, Nordic Skiing, Backcountry Access and Uphill Access.

Telluride also has a really great ski school where you can find Private Lessons, Children's Lessons, Adult Group Lessons, Mountain Guides, Child Care, Snow Bike lessons, Adaptive Programs and even Eco Adventure day camps for kids ages 5-12. Designed to connect kids with their environment and develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them, Eco Adventure camps come in full day, half day and afternoon options, with programs for all interests.

Telluride also offers Specialty Camps where you can make friends and improve your skills on the mountain. Check out such specialty camps as Development Squad, Biomechanics Camp, Heli-Ski Camp, Making Friends With Moguls Camp and a SheRide women's snowboard camp.

The newest specialty camp within the Ski and Snowboard School is the Silver Skier Program, offered to skiers 50 years young and up. The Silver Skiers program takes place in January, February, and March, and is an opportunity to meet others who love the sport as you enjoy exploring the mountain with new friends and just the right amount of coaching. Having fun and broadening your social circle are the main goals for the program.

Telluride also offers a Women’s Week where yoga, meditation, wellness speakers, and après fun combine with expert ski instruction to take your skiing to the next level, no matter your expertise. The 3 Day Women's Ski & Wellness Weekend is JANUARY 20-22, MARCH 3-5, 2015 and includes 3-day lift tickets, 3 days expert instruction by our leading women instructors, Assessment of alignment and ski equipment, and video analysis of your ski technique with before and after ski instruction.

Another great Specialty Camp at Telluride is the ski With Kim Co-Ed Camp with Kim Reichhelm, a two-time World Extreme Skiing Champion who has been featured on “Late Night” with David Letterman, “Good Morning America”, “Wide World of Sports” and NBC's “Date-Line”.

If you want to check out Telluride for just a couple of days this season you can do so with the Mountain Collective pass, which will give you two days at Telluride along with two days at Aspen, Whistler, Alta and a number of other great resorts around the country.
